After a stunning Q1 with record-breaking premium and loss ratios, the U.S. private auto insurance market heads into murky waters in the latter half of 2023.
According to an S&P Global Market Intelligence report covering auto insurance industry trends, premiums skyrocketed in Q1 from $68.84 billion to $76.30 billion, an increase of $7.48 billion or nearly 11%. This double-digit growth was driven by the following factors:

1. Auto Loss Rates Will Continue Rising Due to Return to Office (RTO)
